2022 The 3rd INITIAL Mad Contest

Hello everyone, I'm Skialys, you may have heard me in 2020 JE, albeit an unfortunate story. Welcome to INITIAL Mad Contest, this is the third season of MAD Contest presented by Initial Mad Team. Before the competition, it was only promoted in China, but after thinking about it, I decided to promote it to foreign countries and receive manuscripts. I really want to see the scene where the top M@D and the top AMV compete, and I welcome you in advance.

Because I don't log into Discord very often, so Anami will be the main agent of the competition.

Contest Schedule:

No registration required

Submission Deadline: 2022/08/28

Finalist Selection: Before 2022/09/02

Finalist Premiere: Start on 2022/09/02

Result Announcement: Before 2022/10/01

*Time zone is based on GMT+8.

*The schedule may be adjusted with a follow up official announcement should any unforeseen circumstance occurs.

Note: Because the promotion is a temporary decision, I am sorry that the time saved is not much.

Category

1st Place 3000 CNY(approx. 443 USD)

2nd Place 2000 CNY(approx. 295 USD)

3rd~5th Place 1000 CNY(approx. 147 USD)

6th~10th Place 800 CNY(approx. 118 USD)

All other finalists will receive a prize of 800 CNY ~ 50 CNY (approx. 118 USD ~ 7 USD) based on the quality of the manuscript.

Note: We believe that every contestant who is shortlisted for the competition should be encouraged.

Genre nomination:

Best AMV, Best M@D, Best Storytelling, Best Compositing Effects, Best Emotional Expression, Best Creative Design, Best Shot Editing.

Note: Any genre nomination can be cancelled if there are not enough contenders in that genre.

Main Rules:

1.All entries are not anonymous and winners will be selected through TWO stages.

• Final Qualifying Stage

All contestants will automatically participate in the Mass Selection Stage

According to the quality of the manuscript, there is no limit on the number of finalists.In Final Qualifying Stage, all finalists will be ranked by all of our judges.

2. Finalist list will be announced SEVEN days after our submission deadline. Entry will also take turns to premiere throughout the competition.

3. Entries can be entered in solo/cooperation, but the prizes are subject to the works (multi-person cooperation can only get one prize). You can submit solo entries and participate in other people's collaborative entries at the same time.

4. All judges and staff of the organizer can participate in the competition, but the manuscripts of the judges will be evaluated by the organizer.

5. Please ensure that the narrative copy in all entries has at least Chinese, or provide a Chinese version / Chinese translation copy.

6. INITIAL contest is EXCLUSIVE only, so you are NOT allowed to publish your work on any other websites before the final result came out. If a submitted entry is available publicly, that video will be disqualified, like i was in JE before.

Technical Standards:

1. Entry must be no shorter than 45 seconds and no longer than 10 minutes.

2. We recommend using at least 720p resolution and accepting up to 4K resolution in compression codec of "h264/x264" with no more than 15000kbps bitrates in "FLV or MP4" container. We reserve the right to reject files that we deem to be excessively large without any good reason(1GB & above).

3. The content and context of each entry must be suitable for general audience. This includes (but is not limited to) serious gore, vulgar language, extreme nudity, heavy sexual innuendo, and any material that is demeaning or demoralizing.

4. Our contest logo must be included in your video, it can be anywhere in the video up to your artistic choices, but the duration of our full logo should be NOT be less than 1 second.

5. When submitting your video, a Cover Poster (960×600p resolution) and your Personal information (.txt format) including your ID in Bilibili (or Youtube), Video Title, Description of Video, Sources Used, and Video named as “Video Title_Editor's Name” are needed.

Three of them should be compressed into ONE file ( either in .rar or .zip) and be sent to our official mailbox: "924821389@qq.com". The title of the email should be named as "[INITIAL CONTEST 2022]_Video Title_Editor's Name". Or send your entry's download link to Anami, mega or google drive.

6. All issues not covered by these rules will be resolved by the hosts on as-needed basis.
